The story of Plus Ten media isn't very glamorous, but for the sake of capturing your imagination, it should be noted that the company was conceived atop a 14,000-foot peak in the midst of a lightning storm. A close encounter with 15-million volts was a pretty good nudge in the right direction: do what you love, or get fried trying.
But Plus Ten Media is much more than a close call. In reality, Plus Ten was born out of hundreds of conversations with editors, publishers, marketing professionals, PR agencies and consumers. A writer and multimedia producer, founder Tim Shisler was pursuing his passion in magazine journalism when he realized that something was missing. Magazines were compelling vehicles for product exposure, but print content couldn't offer advertisers the same kind of value when re-produced on web and mobile platforms.
Drawing on his background in business development and tech PR, Tim decided to change his path and start an agency geared towards helping outdoor and travel brands create multimedia content that can be delivered across print, online, mobile platforms and in-store displays. Today, brands and PR agencies turn to Plus Ten to create videos, slideshows, microsites, direct-to-consumer advertising campaigns and social media initiatives.
